With the Pavilion full of happy race-goers and whilst many a punter probably left out-of-pocket, the night was a clear success and the Cricket Club says a very big thank you to all the sponsors, horse buyers/owners, bar staff, race staff, indeed anybody and certainly everybody who turned out to make it such a smashing hit.

New Aussie signing John Cheadle and his good lady were also present and the atmosphere in the Pavilion was top notch. Well done everybody. Last but by no means least, thank you to the terrific trio of Paul "peanut" Nott, Mark "Budgie" Perrot and Bernadette Kent, who together with Secretary Chris Dean put together and produced a marvellous night.

Thanks too must be accorded to Dick Fogden who ensured that the beer flowed true and cool!
