Bradninch Cricket Club

Decorating Day II was sadly rather poorly supported, much to the chagrin of those that made the effort. Nonetheless the hardy few who did report for duty really did get stuck in and achieved an awful lot of work. Club secretary Chris Dean has tabled the following report:

The Club is indebted to Mark Stanbury, Hooch, Les Kent, Mark Perrott, Paul Nott and Rob Acton for their magnificent efforts on the day particularly when three of them (50%) were either ill or injured!

Thanks are due to Mark and David Stanbury furthermore Les Kent for additional work undertaken on other days since the first (designated) redecoration day.

Achievements: (on the day)

  • Kitchen painted (by Les on his own, and I am confident you will notice the difference).
  • Front and side of pavilion's eaves painted black.
  • Front and side of pavilion bottom painted black.
  • Gable wall (facing Bowling Club) painted white.
  • Exterior cellar door painted white (two coats).
  • Front of 'raised' patio walls painted white - in toto.
  • Score-box front and sides painted white.
  • Moss removed from roof.
  • Foliage 'slashed' and burned.
  • Remainder of patio power washed.
  • 'Raised' patio power washed - in toto.
  • Changing room area (including toilets) power washed twice.

Outstanding tasks:

  • Rear of pavilion to be painted white.
  • Removal of dead tree (by changing room door).
  • Changing rooms and corridor to be painted white.
  • Toilets to be painted yellow.
  • Bar - clean and paint white.
  • Umpires' Room - clean.
  • Bar Office - clean and paint.
  • Cellar - paint white.
  • Score-box - rear to be painted white.
  • Skittle Alley - clean, make good and paint white.

  • Repaint 'sleeping policemen'.

As a footnote it is worth again recording SINCERE THANKS to Chris Dean for his marshalling of the event and indeed to the people who turned out to help. On behalf of the remainder of the Club - THANK YOU!
