'A" Division rivals North Devon have signed reserve Devon wicket-keeper Marc Bettis from Sandford and ex-Barnstaple all-rounder Matt Westaway, who was with Barnstaple & Pilton last season.

Bideford opening bowler Tom Allin is another possible newcomer to the Instow ranks as North Devon clearly means business. Big-hitting Mike Hedden, who has put football first in recent seasons, is also expected to play more regularly this season whilst the clubs overseas player in 2006 is Australian opening batsman Stewart Rhodes, who played for Bude & North Cornwall in the North Devon League last season.

Rhodes is no stranger to Instow having played plenty of mid-week cricket there last summer. He scored plenty of runs at Bude last year and will certainly strengthen their batting line-up. North Devon last year finished one place below Bradninch, both clubs having 186 points.
