The 2006 season promises to be very exciting as Bradninch compete with nine other sides for one of the two coveted top two spots that bring with it Premier Division Cricket in 2007. Bradninch are the only one of the nine sides to have played outside the Top Two Divisions in the last five years, the other clubs have all played either all their cricket in the A Division or had up and down seasons between the two Divisions.

The two sides that came down from the Premier Division will no doubt be amongst the stronger teams as is usually the case with sides coming down from the top flight. Seaton ran away with the A Division two years ago before their one season stay in the Premier Division and with former Somerset Chief Executive Peter Anderson at the helm you can bet they will have a team out determined to regain their place amongst the County elite. Seatons five year record reads, Premier (relegated), A Div (Champions), A Div (6th), A Div (8th) and A Div (5th).

The second of the relegated clubs, Braunton are another so called yo/yo club for they, like Seaton battled their way out of A Division two years ago before a short stay in the Premier Division, their five year record reads Premier (relegated), A Div (runners-up), A Div (4th), A Div (4th) and A Div (3rd).

Last Season's 3rd placed side Cornwood, will be looking to go one better, they have a last five year record that reads, A Div (3rd), A Div (8th), A Div (8th), Premier (relegated) and Premier (bottom).

4th placed last year were Bovey Tracey and their five year record is, A Div (4th), A Div (6th), Premier (relegated), Premier (Champions ) and Premier (3rd).

The team that came sixth last year, North Devon, have a five year record that reads, A Div (6th), Premier (relegated), Premier (8th), A Div (champions), A Div (4th). In 7th spot last time round were Axminster who have seen a change of skipper for this campaign with Keith Rockett taking over. Axminsters recent record is A Div (7th), A Div (5th), A Div (7th), A Div (3rd) and A Div (champions).

South Devon were the side who finished closest to the bottom two last year, their recent record is - A Div (8th), A Div (4th), A Div (5th), A Div (7th), A Div (6th).

That leaves the two sides who came up from the B Division, Abbotskerswell and Chudleigh. The Abbots had successive relegations falling from Premier to B Division in two seasons but seem to be on their way back, their five year record reads - B Div (runners-up), A Div relegated, Premier (relegated), A Div (runners-up), A Div 8th. For Chudleigh, promotion to the A Division came last year after four years of B Division Cricket and their recent record is - B Div (Champions), B Div (6th), B Div (4th), B Div (7th) and B Div (9th). The Bradninch five year record is of course, A Div (5th), B Div (champions), C Div (champions), C Div 3rd and C Div 4th.

Nationally, NatWest CricketForce brings in around 22 millions worth of investment to community cricket with over 1,000 clubs registered and an estimated 75,000 volunteers signed up.
