Readers of Saturday�s local newspaper, The Express & Echo would
have seen that in the article about the Devon County Side for
the first game of the season on Sunday April 23rd Richard Foan
was listed as being with Bradninch CC and this caused Sandford
Cricket Club Secretary Paul Smith to take a couple of concerned
calls from Creedy Park faithful along the lines of "Why has
Richard left us, and what's going on?" Well it's all quite
simple. RJ Foan was wrongly listed as being associated with
Bradninch owing to a proof-reading problem when the story was
edited. Richard did at one time represent Devon as a member of
our club but he is now in fact well established with Sandford.
Richard, son of Bradninch CC �legend� Mike, who is now
heavily involved at Cheriton Fitzpaine CC, and nephew of Club
Chairman Derrick Foan, played on Saturday for Sandford 2nds in
the North Devon League Division Three game taking a couple of
wickets and hitting a 12 boundary 59 in a comfortable win for
his side against Shebbear. He was also on duty on St. George's
day for Devon in their first game of the season.
