If the Clubs Saturday sides are enduring seasons of contrasting
results and performances then the absolute opposite applies to
the Sunday XI, which is enjoying one of those campaigns when
everything they touch turns to GOLD! They are through the
halfway mark of their season and have already begun the second
half of the programme. Game number ten of an eighteen match
campaign takes place this coming Sunday (July 9th) with a visit
from a Sandford II side who might well provide the hardest
opposition to date. Unbeaten after nine games, eight of which
have been won and just one lost, to the weather; the Creedy Park
outfit come to Kensham Park with a seasons record to date of
played ten, won five and lost five, but, with their First
Division title-challenging side without a game the likelihood is
that Sandford will bring a strong line up.
See them off and Chris Deans side will have a clear view of
the finish line and with only Tiverton & Bickleigh then likely
to be their biggest rivals, a win over the Exe Valley side when
the sides meet at Kensham Park on Sunday August 13th and the
champagne can go on ice!
After Sundays game the remaining six matches for the Sunday
XI are, July 23rd (Away -North Devon), July 30th (Away -
Shebbear), Aug 6th (Home - Shebbear), Aug 13th (Home - Tiverton
& Bickleigh), Sep 3rd (Home - Cullompton) and finally on Sunday
September 10th with the visit of Hatherleigh. |
