The latest set of Devon League A Division statistics, compiled after week 5 (the defeat to Braunton) show that the 1st XI's strike bowler Sean Nowack, is head and shoulders ahead of anybody else with his average in the bowling stakes.

Sean has taken 14 wickets to date which puts him three behind the South Devon bowler Saeed (17 wickets and 10.76 average). Sean sports an average of 8.86. Joel Murphy also features in the bowling averages - he has 13 wickets (before the Chudleigh game) at an average of 18.31. Our South African all-rounder also makes it into the top batting lists at 16th out of the top 17 with his 121 runs at an average of 30.25.

Meanwhile A Division Seaton have been docked ten points for playing unregistered players in their game against East Devon neighbours Axminster last weekend and as a result have slumped to the bottom of the latest A Division table on 53 points, 8 fewer than second from bottom Braunton.

This Saturdays A Division games see leaders North Devon (96) points seek to become the first side in the section to reach 100 points travel to 7th placed Abbotskerswell (63pts). Two of the bottom three meet at Axminster (8th with 62 points) where Braunton (9th and 61 points) are the visitors. 4th placed Chudleigh (63pts) entertain bottom side Seaton (53pts) and 6th place Cornwood (63pts) host 3rd placed Bovey Tracey (80pts) whilst our side, in 5th with 66 points go to third place side South Devon (84pts).

In the 2nd XI we have a Mid Devon Derby with the Kensham Park visit of Kentisbeare. With Phil Chappell, one of our successful Sunday League side skippering the opposition it makes for an interesting game of cricket. Other games in the 2nd XI C Division are -

Bideford v Thorverton, Ivybridge v Kingsbridge, Plympton III v Plymouth and Whitchurch v Stoke Gabriel.
