The General Meeting where the match balls and other equipment is
handed out will be at The Exeter Court Hotel on Monday 24th
April at 7.30pm. Meanwhile it has been announced that Yealmpton
Cricket Club have withdrawn from the Devon league citing a lack
of local interest. They were set to play in the E Division West
1st XI competition and those fixtures for the coming season will
now be changed. Locally, former Bradninch player Mike Cliff
has been named skipper of the Cullompton 1st XI who will compete
in this year�s D Division East.
Over at Feniton, who like ourselves recently have enjoyed
back-to-back promotions have appointed Brian Cann as their
skipper for their first attack on B Division Cricket. Cann is
also the goalkeeper of Western League Willand Rovers and that
means the skipper of the Station Road outfit will have to miss
the Devon Cricket League�s opening day when Brixham are the
opposition as that same day, May 6th, Willand Rovers are
appearing in the Les Phillips Cup Final at Badgers Hill, Frome
after their recent semi-final win over Welton Rovers. |
