Former Seaton Skipper Andy Cottam left Devon at the end of the last cricket season intending to spend the winter playing cricket in Australia before returning to East Devon for this years season but an unexpected business opportunity means that he will now not return for four years, if at all!

Cottam has recently been granted a four-year business visa to run a cricket centre in Bunbury, Western Australia, offering specialised coaching as a Centre of Excellence together with indoor cricket in the evenings, a concept of the game that is huge in Australia.

Cottam says it is a wonderful opportunity,

Its glorious out here, and the opportunity to work in a sport I love with a passion and with the sun on my back much of the time, its fantastic! Theres a local businessman putting $100,000 into the centre and its a very exciting opportunity for me. With the four-year work visa it suggests I wont be back in Blighty for the considerable future. But I will follow Seatons season via the internet and I wish them all the very best for the coming campaign."
