The club seeks an umpire for the Devon League 2nd XI side starting this coming season in the unchartered waters of the B Division.

It is sure to be an exciting period with new clubs to visit but the side does require a regular umpire to cover both home and away matches. Vice Chairman Paul Nott has been tasked with finding potential recruits and has been in touch with local newspapers.

He says

I have contacted the local press with a view to broadcasting the message that we do need to find somebody who will hopefully join us and become a permanent fixture with the 2nd XI.

I envisage it being a job that will bring many rewards, none more so than spending Saturday afternoons and evenings in the company of our most hospitable 2nd XI players and supporters.

I have said that we will provide transport to and from games for whoever comes in whilst I am also happy to discuss any remuneration that the post might also carry."

So there you are, the search for a "Dickie Bird" is on and if anybody within the club can think of any suitable candidates then please do get in touch with the Vice Chairman via the contacts page.
