Theres been a change in captaincy of the clubs 2nd XI with the very popular Chris Dean assuming the role of skipper. Dean is well known by the staff at British Airways owing to his constant trips to the Far East in his work with the Exeter University admissions department. His son Nick is a talented young player at the club too.

Former skipper Rob Acton decided to step down for personal reasons prior to the weekends game with Abbotskerswell and so Dean took charge and made an instant impact leading the side to a convincing win over the Abbots at Kensham Park.

Indeed the Dean family marked Dean Seniors first game in charge with a super partnership that gave serious impetus to the 2nd XIs innings against the Abbots, after which the new skipper shuffled his bowling pack and egged the fielders from his berth behind the stumps.
