The
Freeman & French Mid Devon Twenty20 competition is up and
running but the first weeks fixtures were badly hit by the
weather with just ONE of the two groups seeing any sort of
action in the first week. The one game to survive saw a strong
Bradninch A win at Honiton. The A Division leaders batted first
scoring 135-9 with Zimbabwean Ryan Butterworth top-scoring with
27 and Devon under 21 all-rounder Ross Acton (23) and other
contributions came from Eliot Acton (14) And Gary Chappell (14).
Billy Joworski (3-23) and Rob Ingram (2-21) were the chief
wicket-takers and then the hosts made a great attempt at the run
chase with a reply that ended on 125-9 led by Andy Brinsford
(42), Brian Sanderson (27) and Tony Veevers. The wicket taking
honours fell to Gary Chappell (3-6) and Ross Acton (2-6), as
Bradninch used ten different bowlers. See the
Freeman & French Twenty20 pages for scores and up to date
tables. |
