Week six of the Francis Clark League, which is also the ONE
THIRD mark of the summers fixtures, sees Joel Murphy take the
side down the A380 to Newton Abbot for a game at a South Devon
side that have yet to be beaten in the section this season after
two wins, two losing draws and one cancellation to their
campaign to date. South Devons most recent game saw all
rounders Saeed and Metters taking three wickets and then each
finished the game with unbeaten knocks to help their side to a
seven wicket win at Alphington, a result that moved the side to
5th where they sit with 57 points, 21 points fewer than the two
sides at the top, Cornwood and ourselves who each currently have
78 points in the bank from five outings so far. So who else is
playing where in week six? ALPHINGTON versus BOVEY TRACEY
Bottom host 4th as winless Alphington tackle a Bovey side who
have beaten just once, that against us here at Kensham Park.
Last weekend Bovey beat Barton in a low scoring game eighteen
wickets falling in the contest for just 179 runs. Alphington
have lost ALL FOUR of the games they have started this term to
date. BARTON versus BRIXHAM
7th versus 3rd and Barton, beaten last week by Bovey Tracey will
seek to win for only the second time this season, they have one
win and three outright defeats form their four games to date.
Brixham sit 3rd, five points behind ourselves and Cornwood. They
have been beaten just once this term. CORNWOOD versus BRAUNTON
1st versus 6th. Joint leaders Cornwood take on a Braunton side
hammered by nine wickets last time out when facing Brixham who
bowled them out for a sub 100 total and knocked the runs off for
one wicket down to take 20 points and leaving the hosts with
nothing to show from the game. Cornwood beat Chudleigh last
weekend in another low scoring affair, their 125 all out
ultimately better than the Chudleigh offering of 85. TAVISTOCK
versus CHUDLEIGH
2nd bottom host 3rd bottom and both sides go into the contest
without a single win to their name in a combined eight outings
to date, both sides have records that show three defeats and one
winning draw. The Bradninch 2nd XI go into a home game with a
Paignton II side who sit one place and four points behind the
7th placed hosts. Paignton are yet to win a game but they have
had two winning draws whilst our 2nd XI whilst of course our
side have endured one win, one loss, one losing draw, one
abandonment and one cancellation from the five games to date. |
