Four Bradninch 1st XI players make the final listings for the
�best seasonal averages� in the Francis Clark Devon League A
Division. ROSS ACTON leads our contingent in
3rd place � Andy Pugh topped the rankings thanks to his 547 runs
at an average of 68.38. Ross, a Devon Under-21 player, hit 278
runs @ 34.75. ADRIAN EZQUERRO made the list at
five with his 315 runs and 31.50 average. TIM
PIPER came 7th thanks to his 307 runs @30.70 whilst GARY NEWALL
also made the cut with his 258 runs and an average of 25.80.
Aussie all rounder Ezquerro proved his magnificent all round
value to the side by also appearing in the top six of the
bowling average. �Rocky� as he became affectionately known by
players and supporters alike at Kensham Park in his first season
with the club, claimed 38 wickets with an average of 10.24. The
only other bowler into the top ten was skipper JOEL MURPHY who
appears at 8th thanks to 28 wickets at an average of 11.61 runs.
In the 2nd XI standings ROB ACTON and CHRIS DEAN both make the
published lists. Acton finished 5th thanks to 319 runs with an
average of 39.88 whilst Club Secretary Chris Dean edged in at 14
with 202 runs and a closing average of 25.25.
ANDY NICHOLLS and PHIL CHAPPELL both make the bowling rankings.
The long serving club stalwart Nicholls finished 6th with 24
wickets at 16.29 and Chappell came in 12th with 13 wickets at
25.85. |
