THE Sunday XI slipped to defeat in their opening North Devon
Holiday Homes top-flight game against Sandford at Creedy Park on
Saturday afternoon.
Batting first three wickets fell before 25 runs were on the
board and despite an excellent unbeaten 48 from Joel Murphy the
innings closed on 163-9 which was seen off by the home side, led
by South African Tianne Mostert with an unbeaten 79 as the North
Devon League champions got home inside thirty overs.
Scores: Bradninch 163-9 (J Murphy 48no; S Ashplant 2-26, P Rowe
2-28, R Glass 2-30), Sandford 167-3 (T Mostert 79no, R Tucker
35, A Small 33). Sandford (20pts) bt Bradninch (3) by seven
wickets.
