Who plays who over last three match days as top flight survival
race gathers pace
The first season of top-flight Francis Clark Devon League
cricket at Kensham Park is set for a thrilling run-in. Indeed
who would have thought at the start of the campaign that, three
games from the end of the season Bradninch would host last
season’s runners-up with Budleigh having to get a positive
result to stave off the threat of the drop!
After the defeat at Exeter the bottom six of the top flight is:

So with THREE match days to play the remaining
games in the top flight are:
Saturday August 15 (troubled sides in capital
letters) Bovey
Tracey v TORQUAY BRADNINCH v BUDLEIGH Plympton v PLYMOUTH
SANDFORD v EXETER
Saturday August 22 BRADNINCH v North Devon BUDLEIGH v
TORQUAY EXETER v Sidmouth SANDFORD v PLYMOUTH
And the final day – August 29
Bovey Tracey v SANDFORD North Devon v BUDLEIGH PLYMOUTH v
EXETER Sidmouth v BRADNINCH TORQUAY v Plympton
Given that Torquay have to meet two of the current top four –
and they go into the 3rd from last match day in the 2nd drop
spot - they must be considered ‘favourites’ to join seemingly
doomed Sandford into the second tier.
