Nott returns to the side for the game at Plymouth on Saturday
with skipper Joel Murphy telling the local Express & Echo
newspaper:
“The average first innings total at Plymouth this season is 140,
which tells me that runs are hard to come by there. Paul (Nott)
has been our best seam bowler this season, repeatedly troubling
the best batsmen in the top-flight, be that local or overseas.
He has been carrying a niggling injury so we gave him last week
off in the hope it would clear up. The rest seems to have done
the trick. It is hard luck on Eliot Acton but our strongest side
for this particular game is one with Paul Nott included. We
played as well as we have for two years to beat Bovey Tracey and
need to repeat that level of performance and form over the next
three games to get away from the foot of the table.”
The Echo also reports in its eve of matchday edition: It’s a big
weekend at the wrong end of the table as four of the bottom five
have games amongst themselves.
Here’s hoping that matchday 11 of 18 does not bring the
forecasted rain for it could well prove to be a pivotal day in
the season.
