The Devon League have published their Umpires’ markings on the
top-flight clubs for the first half of the 2009 Francis Clark
Devon League Premier Division season and they make interesting
reading with Bradninch featuring very well in terms of the
skippers’ markings, well with regard to the players’ markings
but poorly with regard to the markings for the ground and pitch.
The skipper ratings put Joel Murphy at 97.5% lying 3rd with only
the skippers of North Devon and Plymouth (both 100% markings),
above him – the lowest graded club in this category is Budleigh
(90%).
In terms of the players the marking afforded to Bradninch is 95%
which sits well against the 100% of Sidmouth as the top ranked
set and the 90% afforded to the players at Ottermouth and
Budleigh.
The pitch markings category sees Kensham Park afforded a score
of 75%, considerably lower than the leader, North Devon (95%)
and Sidmouth (92%), the nearest markings to us are those from
Ottermouth and Budleigh CC which comes in at 80%
