Richard Foan, who has endured a miserable time since his much
vaunted return to his Kensham Park roots, found some form at the
Maer Ground in Exmouth when he hit a sweet 45 in the Twenty20
match between a Devon Board XI Nottinghamshire CC.
The game was a fund raiser foe the Outlaws Chris Read with the
funds shared between his benefit and the Devon County Youth.
A full strength County side batted first and closed on a decent
187-5, Read himself hitting a 40 ball unbeaten 58. Chris Metters
bagged a brace of wickets for the Devon Board XI.
Foan then hit a 35 ball 45 as he and David Lye (the pair were
team mates at Sandford this time last year), set about the
Nott’s bowling.
The reply closed just 14 runs short on 173-8.
Foan, out of the runs in any shape or form in the Francis Clark
Bradninch side, has recorded an exceptional innings in the
Sunday League XI with a match winning 97 in the game at Lynton &
Lynmouth last month.
