This coming Sunday (July 26) sees the staging of the 2009
Freeman and French Mid Devon Twenty20 Finals Day at Kensham
Park, Bradninch.
Whimple meet Thorverton at 10.30am in the first semi-final with
Heathcoat and Bradninch going head to head to head in the second
game which has a scheduled start time of 1.15pm.
The two last four winners will then contest the final which is
due to start at 4.30pm and the presentations of the Freeman and
French Trophy together with all the finalists receiving a
Dartmoor Breweries Jail Ale presentation pack.
For the early starters there will be bacon rolls served until
11am and a BBQ will run throughout the day. Sunday’s Finals Day
winners will then proceed into a home meeting with Alphington in
the Final of the Devon County Twenty20 competition.
The Bradninch meeting with cross valley neighbours Thorverton is
one not to miss with the host side looking to exact revenge for
a defeat at the hands of the D Division high-fliers who won the
game when the two sides met in the group stages.
The two sides go into the Finals Day with contrasting
season-long fortunes. Bradninch are finding life difficult in
their first ever experience of Francis Clark Devon League
Premier Division cricket and are marooned at the foot of the
North Devon Holiday Homes First Division. The Thors sit top of
the D Division and are unbeaten all season long.
