GOODBYE AND GOD BLESS TO A VERY DEAR FRIEND OF BRADNINCH CRICKET
CLUB
The Club is reeling from the news of the passing of our dear
friend Dick Fogden who sadly left us for that cricket academy in
the sky earlier this week. At this sad time our thoughts are
very much with his good lady wife Jane and of course their
family.
Dick was quite simply A REALLY NICE CRICKETING GENTLEMAN.
Kensham Park will not be the same this coming season without
him. Did the chap ever have a negative word to say about
anything BCC? Most certainly not. He will be fondly remembered
by all involved at the club.
Dick had been poorly for some time. Indeed many of us will
recall how he was facing a serious illness ‘full on’ during last
season and despite some desperately debilitating treatment,
whenever he could he endeavoured to make it to Kensham Park to
watch his beloved sport.
He was also at one time, a very competent golfer and there is no
doubt that heaven’s sporting areas are a richer and warmer place
for his presence.
What did Dick do for the Club? That one is better turned to say
‘What didn’t he do? Prior to him becoming poorly he had had an
involvement in any number of areas of club life as a committee
member and was certainly most proactive in his support and help
to Eddie Andress in terms of the bar operation.
Yes, Dick, you can now take your place amongst the BCC Legends
that have passed on. We look forward to your name being
remembered very much as part of the rise and rise of Bradninch
Cricket Club.
Rest In Peace DICK FOGDEN
