Following the very sad news that a dear friend had passed away
(RIP dear Dick), we now have to come to terms with the fact that
a LIVING BCC LEGEND – Les Kent, is suffering from a very serious
illness that requires surgery at Plymouth next week. Bernadette
the lovely wife of Les (she too warrants 'Legend' status)
reports that poor Les, who had been unwell for some time has now
been diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas, hence the need for
quick surgery.
The great man is set to spend 2-3 weeks in hospital post-op. On
the plus side comes the news that because Les had been jaundiced
it meant they were actually able to discover the beastly problem
early. This gives hope to a full and complete recovery and so DO
NOT BET AGAINST ‘SEZ LES’ donning his beloved whites before the
end of the forthcoming season.
Bernadette would like to say a HUGE AND MUCH APPRECIATED THANK
YOU to all those who have been in touch by various means with
good luck wishes and on behalf of herself, Lucy and Tara. It’s
thanks very much and see you all soon.
Take care Les. Good luck in Plymouth and get back to good health
soon (your cricket club, and the darts team, oh yes not
forgetting the skittles team too – NEEDS YOU).
