BRADNINCH will prove they have found their feet in the Premier
Division if they can beat Plympton and make it three wins in a
row.
After two false starts, Bradninch beat Sandford then followed up
with Torquay's scalp to move up to third in the table.
Skipper Joel Murphy is wary of sticking his neck out, but said
the outcome of the Plympton game could be a reliable pointer to
the prospects for the rest of the season.
He said:
“There are a lot of teams between 40-50 points in the table,
which I think is a sign of how even the league is. From two to
10, everyone is capable of beating everyone else.
If we do well against Plympton, we can look at staying with the
leading bunch perhaps? Plympton will be our toughest game of the
season as they are the most established team we will have
played.
It was good to beat Sandford and better to win at Torquay, where
we batted, bowled and fielded well all on the same day.
The more you do that the better your chances of winning are.”
Eliot Acton, whose chances of getting a bowl have been limited,
drops into the 2nd XI to get some overs in. Young all-rounder
Nick Dean is his replacement.
