P-nut is 1st XI representative in the Francis
Clark Devon League Premier Division leading
averages for batting and bowling
The end of season Francis Clark Devon league
averages have been produced and one Bradninch
1st XI player has made the averages. Mind you
that individual epitomises the cricket club
- his family have a long standing tradition that
is second to none to all things historical and
indeed present day BCC - Vice Chairman Paul Nott
makes it into the averages with 15 wickets for
296 runs and an average per wicket claimed of
19.73. Well done Paul (or P-nut as he more
affectionately known.
Sadly none of the other 1st XI batters of
bowlers make the final charts - (see
www.devoncricket.co.uk for the final Premier
Division averages).
However the 2nd XI were very well represented
with a number of players featuring.
Nat Davey’s final day century took him into the
top ten for actual runs scored in the 2nd XI A
Division stats for him to finish with 358 runs
and an average of 44.75 – this good enough for a
top five individual average finish.
Rob Acton finished with 22 runs and an
impressive average of 37.50 whilst Simon Bailey
(214 runs @ 30.57) and Mark ‘Budgie’ Perrott (88
in nine innings with six not outs and an average
of 29.33), also featured.
Perrott, an undoubted star with the ball
throughout the campaign, took his tally for the
season to 39 wickets - the SECOND best in the
section for the season. Budgie finished with an
average of 12 runs for each wicket he claimed
and also featuring in the final analysis was 2nd
XI skipper Phil Chappell who finished with 24
wickets at an average of 14.
