Bradninch Cricket Club has been further
recognised by the English Cricket Board,
renewing their prestigious ECB Clubmark
accreditation.
The Cricket Club’s Committee is very proud to
have met all the criteria laid down by the ECB
and are looking forward to working with the
Devon Cricket Board to progress the following
objectives set out in their 5 year development
plan :-
- to further develop the Club's cricketing facilities and
maintain a stimulating cricketing environment for people of
all ages to meet their full potential and enjoy the game of
cricket.
- to nurture and promote young cricketers through the
Colts development programme; providing the opportunity for
players as young as 12 or 13 to play alongside those well in
to their 50s and even 60s.
- to sustain the Club's Premier League status by further
establishing the senior sides in the ECB Devon Cricket
League and North Devon League Premier Divisions.
- to harness the spirit, comradeship and general structure
that the game of cricket generates for the good of the wider
community.
To capture the essence of these objectives, the
Cricket Club has adopted the following Mission
Statement, with the aim of reaching out to the
people of Bradninch :-
- to encourage the participation and enjoyment of cricket
at the highest level attainable, nurturing enthusiasm and
developing skills of cricketers of all ages and ability
within the local community.
At the end of a very successful first season in
the DCL Premier Division, the Committee is
already planning next year’s campaign, with the
intention of making a serious challenge on two
times champions, Sidmouth.
ECB Clubmark and consolidation in the Premier
League opens up further opportunities for the
club to progress and with plans beginning to
unfold for the next stage of development, 2010
promises to be another year to remember
