Our prayers are with you Les and while our hearts are searching for the right thing to say and do, perhaps we can find some solace in reminding ourselves what a wonderful example you set in always saying and doing the right thing, whatever the situation that presents itself.

Rare is it that someone gives so much and asks for so little in return. You have provided fantastic support to the Bradninch sporting fraternity over the years, and while current Cricket Club members will be aware and grateful for all the devoted work you do on the pavilion and the ground, some of the older members will recollect that it was Football that first introduced you to Bradninch Sports & Social Club.

You were the backbone of the Football Club for many years and it was this association that drew you to the game of cricket. Starting as an occasional player you worked hard to earn a regular place in the Saturday and Sunday league sides.

Seldom have we seen someone so dedicated and determined, spending countless hours bowling at a single stump, attending every practice session and learning as much as you could by sharing time in the nets with senior players and coaches.

All the hard work and dedication paid off with many notable performances and I know how much you enjoyed all those wickets Les, while also appreciating the value of tying an end up and helping the bowler at the other end prosper.

We have come a long way together over the last decade and there is still much to do, but it is people like you Les that make a real difference.

All our love and support to Les, Bernadette, Lucy, Tara and their family.
