The Bradninch 1st XI report of last weekend contained a serious
faux-pas (for the less educated that means a right foul
up/error).
Anyway (as the famous Jethro might say): “what ‘appened
was……”
The 1st XI report made reference to a Nick Acton batting so well
for the side when in fact that should have read Nick DEAN.
Apologies extended to the Dean family as young Nick did a
fabulous job on the day, as skipper Ross Acton alluded to in his
post-match comments on the game with Plympton.
Nick had opened the batting in what was the first game since the
departure from our fair Isle of the South African lads and the
Cullompton based teenager struck an excellent 17.
The club does of course have a Nick Acton - yes, he’s one of the
Acton clan, of which there are many. He was more of a
footballing Acton but he has been known to pull on the whites
and do battle for the cause.
So humble apologies to the Dean family for this error - and for
all those out there who we know keep record of our teams' great
efforts, please amend your records accordingly!
