The Devon County Cricket technical director, Roger Newman, has
named two Bradninch players as being amongst those that the
County selectors have their eyes firmly focused on.
Speaking after Devon’s disappointing 39 run defeat against
Cornwall in the Minor Counties Cup, Newman said:
“I am a great believer in continuity and
giving lads a fair crack. If the next game does not turn out the
way we want it to, then the Wiltshire match will be chance to
experiment. I went to watch Sidmouth against North Devon last
Saturday and liked the look of North Devon’s Neil Bettis, who
dropped out of his own choice last season but wants to get back
in. He got a good 90 in that match.”
Newman continued:
“Ross Acton, who impressed during winter nets for us, and Gary
Chappell, are going well for Bradninch, with the ball. They
could come into consideration.”
