A very young Bradninch side were put to the sword by a much
stronger Budleigh team although it is wonderful to hear the
comments from the Ottermouth club’s coach Paul Conway who said:
"All credit to Bradninch who we recognised fielded a young side.
They all played the game in a great spirit and seemed to have a
smile on their faces throughout. I thought that Will Palmer
bowled a particularly good spell with his three overs going for
just 13 runs.”
Batting first the home side closed on 132-2 from their twenty
overs with their top two batsmen both retiring after reaching
scores of 40. The successful bowlers were Lewis Culver-Evans
(1-27) and Will Dunsford (1-280 whilst the aforementioned Will
Palmer did bowl very well for his 0-13 from three.
Just ten runs came from the bat as Bradninch were then bundled
out for a meagre 28. Jack Palmer (4), Max Cooper (2), Will
Palmer (2) and Sam Helman (2) were the Bradninch run scorers.
Credit should be afforded to the home side’s coach who asked his
bowlers to bowl off two or three paces and also placed his
outfield much deeper than he would normally have done. |
