Broadclyst kindly invited Bradninch for a
friendly fixture against their newly formed youth team.
Venue: Broadclyst CC, Killerton Estate
Date: Sunday 28th June � 10.15 am
Broadclyst won the toss and elected to
field.
24 overs per side � hardball pairs match.
Bradninch made a steady start until the
dramatic 19th over bowled by Ben Vicary, when 4 wickets fell: a
combination of spectacular catches and run out. Bradninch
recovered to post a target of 162 for the loss of 9 wickets.
In reply Broadclyst found run scoring
difficult thanks to some accurate bowling from Will Dunsford,
well supported by Harry Foster and Max Atifeh. After 20 overs
the total was 129 for 7. Then a strong partnership developed
between Dom Beardsall and Chris Endicott, including six boundary
4s.
With 2 needed for victory off the last
ball, the fielding side kept it too a single.
Broadclyst finished on 162 for 7 � a TIE.
Broadclyst kindly organised a Bar B Q for
the players and spectators, which was much appreciated. All had
a good time and we look forward to another fixture in the near
future.
