If it was delight for the 1st XI at home to Exeter then it was
despair for the 2nd XI as they slipped to a disappointing defeat
at a Tavistock side who climbed above them in the 2nd XI A
Division table as a result.
The hosts batted first and a combination of Lukas Fencl (4-31)
and Mark Perrott (2-32), helped bowl out Tavistock for just 194.
Sadly that was to be as good as it got for the side on the day
for they were then bundled out for 131 as only Syed Hussain (27)
and Chris Dean (24) - the latter had just seven days before been
burning up the air miles on one of his regular business jaunts
to the far east - managed to make any impression.
The team have slipped to a couple of points above the drop spots
and, with the first third of the season completed, will look to
kick-start the season next Saturday when they host one of only
two sides to sit below them in the table, Sidmouth III on
Saturday. The East Devon side will pitch up having lost all five
of their games to date.
