The 2nd XI were left disappointed as they became the first team
not to beat bottom of the table Sidmouth who departed Kensham
park with a losing draw as they closed on 196-4 in reply to the
home side's commanding 246-6.
Rob Acton led the way for the hosts with a splendid 59. Lukas
Fencl (34) and Simon Bailey (32) played the supporting roles.
But the visitors dug in, in their reply and only lost the four
wickets prior to stumps, Mark Perrott claiming a brace with
figures of 2-45.
Phil Chappell’s men sit 15 points above the drop zone on 67
points from their first seven outings this season. Next up they
entertain Abbotskerswell.
