were on the end of a heavy defeat when they met Exeter at
Kensham Park. The visitors were invited to bat first and closed
on a whopping 232-4 from their twenty overs.
Opener Dan MacLaurin was quickly into his stride before his
stumps were knocked over by an excellent Freddie Foster
delivery.
With Street playing sensibly for his 40 at one end, Will
Marsh came in and set about the bowling playing a fine array of
strokes on his way to retiring on 40. His innings included nine
4s across a lightning quick outfield. James Vanstone made the
most of his chance to bat with a well crafted 29, before being
well caught by Freddie Foster.
At this point Exeter were 169 for 3 and Harry Skinner arrived
intent on a quick innings. With five balls of the over left
Skinner went 6, 4, 6, 4, 6 as he powered his way to a score of
40 before retiring - this from just eleven balls faced!
Bradninch dug in and were determined not to give Exeter the
satisfaction of bowling them all out.
Whilst not scoring quickly some resilient performances made
life difficult for Exeter. Rob Jarrett hung around a long time
for his 17 which included three 4s and Freddie Foster also
batted with great resilience to finish not out as the hosts
closed on 67-7.
Exeter’s bowlers shared the wickets around, Max Wenley and
Tommy Kynaston bowling good spells to claim a wicket each.
