Source: Stephen Birley Bradninch II
returned from South Devon with a winning draw and the 15 points
they banked keeps them fifth in the A Division table.
Batting first Bradninch banked maximum batting points with a
very respectable 216-4. Nat Davey (44), Chris Acton (42), Lukas
Fencl 34no and Andy Nicholls (31), combined to provide the bulk
of the pre-tea runs.
Then Acton claimed 2-46 and Simon Bailey picked up 3-41, to
bowl Bradninch within reach of victory, but the home side stood
firm and closed with a losing draw on 160-8.
Next up is a trip to Barton. The South Devon coast side sit
third bottom and when the pair met at Kensham Park on May 15 the
visitors claimed what remains one of only two wins this season!
Bradninch were bundled out for just 62 with only Bill Leathes
(25), making a contribution. The visitors then sailed home
losing just three wickets, two of which were taken by Andy
Nicholls.
