Source: Stephen Birley Bradninch slipped
to a fourth defeat of the North Devon Cricket League season when
beaten at Instow on Sunday afternoon.
The defeat effectively ends any chances of lifting the Sunday
League top honour, but with the bottom two, Victoria Park and
Morebath cast adrift and the season now past the half way stage,
enough has been done to preserve top flight status for another
season.
Hosts North Devon batted first and powered to 279-8, led
there by Dan Bowser (94), Jamie Overton (60) and Matt Nobes (48)
whilst Gary Chappell claimed 4-54.
Dan Hardy (33), Haydn Murray (27) and Gary Chappell (24),
provided the main contributions to the reply which closed on
144.
Matt Dart claimed 4-32 in nine overs and the other wickets
fell in pairs to Dan Bowser (2-12), Craig Overton (2-21) and
Jamie Overton (2-39).
In other top flight matches leaders Filleigh suffered only
their second defeat of the season, beaten at Sandford for whom
former Bradninch player Richard Foan hit a superb 133.
Heathcoat won a low scoring game at Victoria Park and
Bideford won at Morebath. The results on match day twelve see
THREE teams all sport 16 point averages for the season to date.
Filleigh and North Devon have both played nine with two
defeats each and Heathcoat, the current champions, have lost one
more with three defeats from their eleven games.
