The history books auger well for Heathcoat as they contemplate a season back in the 'B' Division of the Devon League, for in each of the past two seasons the sides promoted from 'C' Division have enjoyed healthy seasons in the higher level.
In 2005 B Division has two sides, Chudleigh and Bideford, who have been permanent fixtures in the Division over the past four seasons, the North Devon outfit finishing 3rd in each of the last two seasons to fractionally miss out on promotion into 'A' Division.
Abbotskerswell are the only team in the section to have played Premier Division cricket after their one season flirtation with the top level in 2003 whilst Barnstaple & Pilton are the only side to have played in the Regional Divisions (D Division West, which they won twice in 2001 and 2002). The other sides that make up the ten team Division are Plymouth, Alphington, Babbacombe, Brixham and the side who gained promotion along side the Knightshayes outfit, Exeter St. James.
