A tribute to Simon

In Simon we have not only lost a friend but one of our family. He was as solid as they come and always gave a balanced view on things when you asked a question.

He stood with you side by side when needed , never shirking responsibility or not standing for what he felt right.

I spent hours on and off the field with him , sharing foreign holidays as well. We had some wonderful times and oh dear did we get in some pickles!

Back on home soil many years ago, we were out in Exeter one Saturday night after Cricket, walking down South Street. A couple of guys started mouthing off to myself. I decided to ignore it, but my Minder was having none of it. He just walked over and put the guy on his back telling him to move on unless he wanted a worse result.

Hence I got the nickname punchbag for a while.

A true friend in every sense , he stood by everyone he trusted in.

We will all miss him, but he will never ever be forgotten and my hope is the Bails Bash will live on in his memory .

RIP my dear friend
