The gap between 1st and 2nd XIs at Kensham Park is set to be wider than ever next season with the senior side gracing once more the top flight and the 2nd XI sitting in the third tier.
Of the likely make-up of the Premier Division in 2017, the competing clubs with their 2nd XI status shown in brackets, will be:
Sidmouth (Premier), Exeter (Premier), Exmouth (Premier), Heathcoat (A Div), Torquay (Premier), Bovey Tracey (Premier), North Devon (Premier), Plymouth (Premier) and, assuming Paignton go up too, their second XI will be an A Division side having been relegated this season from the Premier.
Completing the 10 top flight clubs will be Bradninch (B Division East).
That makes its almost impossible for any 1st XI player out of touch or needing runs, dropping down to the third tier from the top flight and so, given the clubs desire to sustain a top flight berth for the considerable future, getting the 2nd XI promoted HAS to be top of the agenda in 2017.
