BCC youth coach Dave Bunker joined his son Thom, Will Birley and Max Cooper for a net session at the Devon Cricket Centre in the week leading up to Christmas.
The session – a hard one hour of work – was witnessed by Steve Birley who said:
“It was a joy to watch. Dave worked hard with all three, but particularly Max (Cooper) who he used all sorts of techniques with to work on his approach and delivery and I can honestly say by the end of the session max was delivering fast and accurate deliveries of the sort you’d like to think your opening bowler would deliver on a regular basis.”
“In terms of the work with Will (Birley) and Thom (Bunker), it’s more a case of fine tuning and what was great to see was his work with Will on adapting and indeed using ‘different’ deliveries as ‘surprises’ during an over.”
The foursome plan further nets over the coming eight weeks before the club nets begin in earnest.
