The February Coffee Morning at the Guildhall was a stunning success.
Despite the weather (and it was that bad that two hours before the start the Met Office had upgraded the weather warning for the area from yellow to amber!), there was a fabulous turnout with record numbers and therefore a record take.
The average we manage to bank after such events has been – and we have been running the events for some time now – is around the £120 mark and this time round it was a lot nearer £200.
That all means some folk must have worked their socks off. Well they did! And it is therefore a case of hat’s off (and many, many thanks) to Janet, Jill, Simon, Alan, Chris, Annie, and so many others who chipped in PLUS the master-of-ceremonies, the one-and-only Paul Nott.
Well done to the off-the-square team – you did us proud.
