Junior section Awards prove MASSIVE hit
The 2016 BCC Junior Awards was a massive success with record numbers turning out. The evening was a huge hit thanks to the incredible efforts of Natalie Hunt who showed anyone who wondered why she had been nominated for a cricket OSCA just why she had been put forward and ultimately selected as the Devon winner for the ‘Heartbeat of the club’ award.
She pulled together her regular team of helpers to deliver a wonderful evening of food and awards which all went to make it a perfect way to end the junior season at Kensham Park.
The food was more than enough to feed the 90 who pitched up to the event – almost double the number that attended the 2015 awards!
There were puddings and cakes – thanks to Nat’s Mum and the pair (as ever run splendidly by Simon and Jill with their now customary help from Paul Geach).
Will Birley ran the music and both club president Roy Nott, and his wife Annie, and club chairman Derrick Foan, and his wife Anne, were present to enjoy the occasion – and play their part with presenting awards.
All the juniors received a certificate for their season’s exploits and there were the usual individual batting and bowling awards through the age groups.
As for the main colts’ award – the 2016 Bradninch Cricket Club Colt of the Year award went to Vinny Clark.
