New League Fixtures released

The fixtures have been released for the new all-through 2018 Tolchards Devon Cricket League that starts on May 5 and ends on September 1.

Gary Chappell and his men have been handed a mouth-watering start with a home game against champions Bovey Tracey on the first Saturday of May.

The first month of the campaign continues with a trip to Sandford followed by a home game with North Devon and then the Mid Devon derby at Heathcoat on the final Saturday of May.

June begins with a trip to Sidmouth and, the remainder of month two sees back-to-back away matches at Exeter and Exmouth before the month ends at Kensham Park against Plymouth.

July sees the ‘second half’ of the campaign begin with the return against Bovey Tracey – at their place – and that’s followed by a home game with Sandford, a trip to North Devon and the month is completed with the return ‘derby’ with Heathcoat at Kensham Park on July 28.

August begins with a home game against Sidmouth and that is followed by a trip to Hatherleigh before back-to-back home games with first Exeter and then Exmouth.

The campaign ends with a trip to Plymouth on the first Saturday of September. One interesting fact about the new fixtures is that four of the last six games are at home – home comforts to boost a title challenge perhaps?
