Tim Piper has returned to Bradninch after a short spell at Torquay. ‘Pipes’ last year’s skipper at Kensham Park had left the club as he wanted to play Premier Division cricket and he made a good start to the season with his new team.
However, Torquay skipper Justin Yau understands this move and says:
“Tim heads back to Bradninch as his heart is still set there. He has made a useful contribution and he will be missed, but we have one in the pipeline to replace him. He’s found the travelling on public transport pretty demanding and he goes back to Bradninch with our blessing. We will remain good friends and we hope he enjoys his cricket back there.”
The Piper return is a blessing for skipper Dan Hardy who has been hit by injuries to Paul Nott and Will Greig.
After back-to-back defeats a win is much needed when the 1st XI entertain Barton on the first Saturday in June. Barton pitch up at Kensham Park sitting third in the A Division table having won two and lost two of their opening five games.
Piper is ineligible for the T20 competition as he has already played in it this season for Torquay.
