Senior players’ registration a roaring success

The senior players’ registration night was a roaring success with seven teams of four contesting a pool-darts-skittles night.

There were some notable performances and, on the night three teams remained undefeated.

The teams skippered by chairman Derrick Foan, Chris Acton and Johnny Reed were the three teams who prevailed throughout proceedings without the sour taste of defeat!

A highlight of the night has to be the roar of delight that greeted the completion of a leg of 501 (double in) with Club President Roy Nott and his son Paul finally edging two of the club’s colt players by landing a dart in the middle of the double one bed some ten minutes after they began trying!

The object of the exercise was to collect the 2014 player season’s subscriptions and congratulation must go to 2nd XI Captain, Bryn Jones who signed up enough players on the night to field one-and-a-half teams!

1st XI team boss Chris Acton did the collecting from the 1st XI players. The number of subscriptions collected is a significant improvement on the same stage in 2013 and further evidence that things at BCC on, and off, the square, are moving in the right direction.
