Seventeen-year-old Thom Bunker has made the switch from Kentisbeare CC to Bradninch CC. Young Thom – his father Dave is the senior youth coach at Kensham Park, has moved across after an excellent full season with the Kentisbeare 1st XI side.
A powerful batsman/wicketkeeper, Thom scored 327 runs last year in his debut 1st XI season – playing in C Division East for Kentisbeare. His run count was the third highest in the team – bettered only by the runs of Paul Tatterton (397) and Rory Thomas (394) and it was 58 runs more than his skipper, former BCC youth head Coach Scott Chappell.
BCC 2nd XI skipper Chris Acton is delighted to have made the signing. He said:
“Thom is someone we have had our eye on for some time. He’s no stranger to us as he played in the Under-17 side last season and also appeared in some friendly XI matches. I have played alongside him in indoor cricket and he hits the ball mighty hard. I have high hopes for him having an excellent future with the club.”
