Vinny and Riley give club timely boost

Teenagers Vinny Clark and Riley Burgess made great starts to their BCC senior cricket lives when they played in the opening club 2nd XI friendly fixture at Ashbrittle.

Their presence – and performances – gives a timely boost to the much awaited re-launch of the clubs YOUTH COACHING ACADEMY which fires into life this FRIDAY (April 22).

Young Vinny, of course, bagged his first ever senior wicket thanks to a Rob Acton catch.

Even young (well , one year actually, 14-year-old) Riley’s  Mum got in touch with the BCC Colts top  lady (Natalie Hunt) to say just how much her son, who has come to Kensham Park from Feniton, enjoyed his first outing for the club at senior level.

This all  such good news  for our own burgeoning youth section – which does begin in earnest on Friday when the head youth coach Dave Bunker, along with Natalie and other coaching staff, will be on hand to meet and greet new players and their parents at the first of what are to be regular Friday night sessions.

The club bar – and kitchen –  (big thanks to Simon and Jill Glendinning for this) will also be open on Friday evening for all comers to make use of).
