Charlie Walker’s second successive home century sees him become the first BCC batsman to pass 400 runs for the 2015 season. His 107 also means he is now averaging 50.
However, that is not the best average in the team! That honour is still held by Tim Piper. After bettering his previous highest knock of the season with an unbeaten 68 against Sandford, ‘Pipes’ is now averaging 99 – this after six innings so far with four having been not out knocks!
A third player sports a batting average in excess of 40 and that is Ross Acton with his 372 runs to date – bettered only by Walker – seeing him hold an average of 41.33.
Will Squire, who missed the Sandford win, stays top of the bowling averages with 16.06. The big mover after Saturday’s action is player-coach Luandre van Wyk who’s six-wicket haul draws him level with ‘Roscoe’ (Ross Acton), on 23 wickets for the season to date.
Four bowlers are into double figures for wickets so far this season with Will Squire third with 15 victims and Charlie Walker fourth with 11 so far.
In terms of 1st XI catching, the top catcher so far is wicket keeper Tim Piper with nine catches. Next comes Chris Metters with seven and then Andy Buzza with six.
