The Bradninch Under-8s and Under-10s were in action against Kenn on a damp early August evening.
Here’s ‘Ninch youth cricket supremo Nat Hunt’s take on events.
“It was certainly not my favourite weather for a game of cricket, but we managed to get a game on anyway.
Kenn were eager and a fair bit older so beat us by a few runs, but our boys and girls are shaping up nicely and a game against Kenn is always a pleasure.
I was particularly impressed with Daniel Huxtable from start to finish. He is a very switched on 8-year-old who was involved in every aspect of the game.
The Groom brothers, Elliot and Isaac, are also impressive in the field and bowled very well… a caught-and-bowled wicket from Elliot was particularly fantastic.”
“Many thanks to the parents for showing up for a dank and dreary evening of cricket and for helping out with the behind the scenes organisation.
Special thanks to Riley Burgess for coming along to umpire, and to Tim for scoring. They’re both amazing and I couldn’t have run the game without them! “
And finally from Nat:
“Here’s hoping we see as many of you as possible for training on Friday.”
